Web Browsers

At The Lookout Way we use the latest technologies and techniques to develop our website. We are committed to making our software easily accessible and consistent across supported browsers and platforms. Because it is not always possible or practical to fully test and validate our website using every available operating system and browser combination, we have implemented this policy to ensure that we provide the best possible experience for the majority of our users.

Development Principles & Web Standards

The Lookout Way attempts to minimise browser-support issues by following best practice. We develop our websites and applications using W3C web standards. For more information on W3C web standards please visit www.w3.org/standards/.

General Browser Requirements

To effectively interact with our websites and services, your browser must meet the following requirements:

  • The browser must be configured to accept cookies

  • The browser must be configured to execute JavaScript

  • The browser must be capable of TLS 1.2

Specific Browser Support

The Lookout Way uses a combination of industry data and our own statistical user data to identify browser usage patterns and support requirements. This data is regularly reviewed to ensure our browser support policy remains current and we frequently test features to ensure they are functioning correctly. Our websites have been optimised to work on a number of different devices including mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers.

We validate against and fully support our customers’ use of the following browser:

  • Edge (Current Version)

  • Firefox (Current Version)

  • Chrome (Current Version)

  • Safari - Desktop (Current Version)

  • Safari (Mobile) on iOS 12, 13, 14

  • iOS Chrome (Current Version)

  • Android Chrome (Current Version)

Mobile Devices

As operating systems are continually upgraded, and users are strongly encouraged by the developer to upgrade when available, our approach is to support the current version plus one or more of the previous versions depending on the specific operating system.

Although we only validate against the more recent versions of an operating system, generally, our application will still be able to be used on older versions however the user may encounter minor issues whilst using it.

iOS

Current + previous version. As of September 2021, current will be iOS 15, so the supported versions will be iOS 14 and iOS 15.

Android

Current + last 4 years. As of September 2021, current will be Android 11, so the supported versions will be Android 7.1, 8.0, 8.1, 9, 10, and 11.
